Helios Nudist Association is a member owned club situated just outside of Edmonton, Alberta. Crescent Rock Beach, Surrey, B.C. 2006. Located on the 6 km of secluded shoreline in South Surrey between Crescent Beach and White Rock, this nude-friendly beach has been a naturist hot-spot for over 50 years. While not as well known as world-famous Wreck Beach in Vancouver, it does offer an au' naturelle experience close to the Fraser Valley and U.S. border. Crescent Rock Beach Trip Report. 2006. A trip to Vancouver B.C. Canada would not be complete without a visit to their "other" nude beach. While Wreck Beach is world famous, there is another naturist hot-spot not far from it in the city of Surrey. Known as Crescent Rock Beach, it is located on the strip of secluded shoreline between Crescent Beach and White Rock, protected by the 200 foot Ocean Park bluffs. While rocky and rough in stretches, there are three main beach areas which attract naturists from throughout the Greater Vancouver area and Fraser Valley. Because of the hillside, limited access points, and the BNSF railway which runs along the base of the slope, it is distinctly remote considering the neighbourhoods which surround it. If you're looking to get away from the crowds at Wreck and want to witness an abundance of wildlife including bald eagles, great blue herons, harbour seals, and the occasional whale, then this is your beach. It has a great view of the islands in the Strait of Juan de Fuca and fantastic sunsets can be seen from along its western shores. Bring along a thick blanket to lie on as the sand is course and pebbly. Surrey's United Naturists (SUN) have set up a website to promote Crescent Rock Beach's naturist use. For detailed directions and information on this nude-friendly shore I suggest you visit their site at crescentrockbeach.org . For those hard-core naturists out there, SUN even holds a New Year's swim known as the Polar 'Bare' Plunge. Kind of adds a whole new meaning to the term skinny-dip!

Nanaimo Information from a member. 2006. Nanaimo is directly across the Strait of Georgia (west) from Vancouver, and about 2 hours north of Victoria by car. It is the second largest city on Vancouver Island. Non of the clothing optional places are in town, although we have some very nice beaches in town. The beaches in town are generally used by families and tourists. You have to get away from the crowds. Unlike eastern Canada (or the Lower Mainland), Vancouver Island has lots of forested area full of streams, lakes and waterfalls, and the trails to get you there. With the low population, the Island is quite nudist friendly, and no matter where you go there's always a spot to enjoy naked. There are no signs indicating =>=>=>nude beach this way=>=>=>, so you have to know where is ok. But: Stay away from Qualicum Beach, it is touristy and has the seniors crowd (great place to retire). Tofino and Ucluelet are quite nudist friendly.

The Okanagan Family Nudist Park is in the process of re-organizing and interested folks are invited to enquire via Mervyn. This time we have a small pond in the centre of a very large farm to work with. As before, we need folks with the time, money, and or willingness to work to help make this happen. The OFNP is located near Lumby and is affiliated with the Federation of Canadian Naturists.

Okanagan Shuswap Nudist Society. We are a nudist club located in the Beautiful Okanagan of British Columbia. The OSNS was started in 1989 with the purpose of networking the thousands of nudists and naturists in central BC, hosting monthly swims during the winter, sponsoring orientation seminars, hosting yearly nude houseboat cruises on Shuswap Lake, exploring and supporting traditional nude beaches and hot springs, and travelling to other clubs, resorts, and even 7 day Caribbean Nude Cruise on 900+ passenger luxury liners! Van Tan Nudist Club. Vantan is Canada's oldest nudist club with a dedication to that lifestyle. Founded in 1939 by Ray Connett "The father of Canadian Nudism", we are located in North Vancouver. The Van Tan club provides a rustic, relaxing, private park for the enjoyment of social nudism. The club has a solar heated swimming pool, wood-fired sauna, facilities for volleyball, badminton, horseshoes, shuffleboard, croquet, bocci, children's play equipment, and wading pool; spacious lawns for sunning, and lots of shade trees. The club is located on about three hectares on the lower slopes of Grouse Mountain with a marvelous view of Burrard Inlet and Vancouver. Wreck Beach Preservation Society (WBPS). This 6-kilometre long, wilderness-like beach which follows a promontory below an emerald-green forested, 200-foot high, cliff system weathered to beauty akin the White cliffs of Dover, is Canada's first and largest, legal, clothing-optional beach and is a Mecca to visitors from around the world! Over 100,000 visitors per year find their way down the many sylvan trails to the glistening sands and sparkling waters where the mighty Fraser River waters mingle with those of the Strait of Georgia and English Bay. Wreck Beach Report. August 2007. Let me start out by saying that Vancouver is one of the friendliest cities that we have been to. A couple of weeks ago, my wife Barb and I hopped on the Amtrak Cascades 510 out of Seattle for a two day visit to Vancouver and especially Wreck Beach. The 4 hr train ride along Puget Sound in itself is gorgeous, but pulling into Vancouver with the magnificent mountains all around is breathtaking. After checking into our hotel, we quickly figured out Vancouver’s very efficient mass transit system and about an hour later we were on the UBC campus heading for trail 6. We didn’t have any problems finding the trail head; we just followed the throngs of people, mostly college kids heading for the beach. Once at the trailhead, it is a VERY steep decent to the beach. Something like 400 steps. It will definitely test the cardiovascular system on the climb back up, but the effort is more than worth it. Wreck Beach has some spectacular views. The mountains in the distance are incredible. The dark colored sand is very nice. The tree covered cliffs to the rear. Just all around beautiful. The water was a little chilly so we didn’t stay in too long. Being we just arrived from the U.S. east coast heat wave, we stayed mostly on the sand. There were however, a lot of people enjoying the water. Hearty Canadians much more used to cool summertime water temps than we were. We were on the beach on a Monday, and I’m guessing there were close to 800 people there. Perhaps a bit more. The weather was perfect. Bright sunshine, a few clouds, and temps in the upper 70’s. A most memorable beach visit for sure. There were vendors on the beach (we bought a couple of slices of pizza and the shirt, lol), some folks playing guitar, and lots of boogie boards in the surf. There were a few families with small children also. Naturism is alive and well in Vancouver. Our friends to the north certainly have a natural unspoiled jewel in Wreck Beach, and I encourage anyone who is even remotely close to go visit. You will not be disappointed. One can only hope it remains that way. The folks at Wreck Beach Preservation Society are doing their best. Lets hope their efforts and success continue. Thanks joandbarb for the report.

Wreck Beach Memories. This is a group for sharing stories and images about Vancouver's beautiful Clothing Optional Wreck Beach. Wreck Beach is under the threat of developers as U.B.C. continues its plans to build 20 story Towers overlooking the cliffs above the Beach effectively destroying Wreck Beach's natural atmosphere. It is the on going fight to stop the destruction of Vancouver's last natural beach that inspired the creation of this page. Kouchibougauc National Park Trip Report. July 2006. We visited Kouchibouguac National Park in New Brunswick, Canada this past weekend and it was absolutely gorgeous. We just went for a day trip but headed out early so we got there about 10:30 and were able to spend the entire day sunbathing and swimming. There were about 15-20 people enjoying life naturally, both couples and singles. My wife and I felt perfectly comfortable and relaxed the whole time. If you go south from the lifeguard station about 1 km you can walk up and down the beach without any issues. A few textiles wandered by but at most there was just a nod of acknowldegment. Hope to get back a few times more this summer as it was absolutely terrific. A few jelly fish, but dodging the odd one just made the day a bit more interesting. This is a beautiful spot just one hour north of Moncton, N.B. There is a white sandy beach that goes on for miles, the ocean is as blue as blue can be and the warm breeze kept the 26 degree celcius weather from feeling too hot. For ocean water it is the warmest north of the Carolinas. This is a real paradise for the naturist and like any National Park there are lots of other things such as camping, biking, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, etc. (nudity permitted on the beach only) Great spot for a day trip or an extended vacation. Long Beach, Fundy Trail, Report. July 2007. Well we had quite a day yesterday. We went for a challenging 4.5 km hike (9 km total) at the Fundy Trail in NB (about 2 hours each way). The entire hike was along the coast of the Bay of Fundy and was full or all kinds of terrain and variations in elevation. This truly is a challenging hike, so don't attempt it unless you are an avid hiker and enjoy adventure. We ended up at Long Beach and had the whole beach, which goes on for miles, to ourself; not a sole in site. The water was cool but we went for a refreshing swim in the ocean. There is even a brook to bath in to get the salt off when you are done swimming. It was truly spectacular and worth all the sweat to get there (and the aches today). If ever there was heaven on earth this is it! Naturism and Nature; what a combination. If you enjoy hiking and naturism this is an excellent location to thoroughly enjoy yourself, but don't expect to see any crowds there. Thanks Frank and Marion for the report.

Barely There Travel Club. We are a small group in the area of Grey and Bruce Counties of west-central Ontario. The Barely There Travel Club Report in Owen Sound. March 2006. Aka Naturists_in_Owen_Sound enjoyed a very enjoyable Meet & Greet at The Oasis in Southampton, Ontario, on Saturday, March 4. To say it was a success would be an understatement. Thank you to Greg and Rainy as our hosts. We ended up with 15 people there on the 4th, who traveled from as far as Collingwood, Barrie, Mississauga, Guelph, Sarnia and Hanover, as well as locals. We had a good mix of couples and singles of both genders. The potluck worked out well. We had plenty of food (almost too much) and lots of variety, both hot and cold. My broccoli dip in a pumpernickel bread bowl was a hit! The facility was a snug fit but it was OK. I don't think we could have handled more than we had. People would come in and out of the hot tub, which was the focus of the room, generally 2 or 4 and sometimes 6 at a time. The sauna wasn't used as much and usually only 1 or 2 at a time. It was decided by consensus that we will arrange to rent The Oasis (in Southampton) once per month, on the first Saturday of each month (April, May and June), except in the summer (July and August). A date has been secured for September. The next hot tub party is scheduled for Saturday, April 1, no joke! The cost is $10 per person and a contribution to the pot luck. Camping in Ontario Report. This appeared on the message board in May 2006. Question posted by capebare: Does anyone in Ontario know of anywhere to go camping where you can tan almost nude or nude? It doesn't have to be a resort like the Four Seasons, Ponderosa, Glen Echo. I am just looking for somewhere to spend a few days this summer camping and just relaxing! East Haven Sun Club family nudist park has new owners who are planning as many upgrades as they can over the next few years. The park is situated on 70 acres of land, was established in 1958, and is open every day from mid-May to October. Visitors are always welcome at the park and membership is available. East Haven reserves the right to limit the number of (singles) visitors per day. Please call ahead for rates and admission fees. Our park has many campsites for RV’s, trailers and tents, most of which have electricity and septic systems. There is a swimming pool, Hot Tub, a small pond, volleyball and horseshoe pits, and large grassy areas for sunning and picnicking. Our clubhouse offers reading materials, a small supply store and games for rainy days. We often show movies Friday evening and regularly hold dances (clothed) on Saturday nights. Hanlan's Beach Report. August 2006. The only real complaint is that it is difficult to get to (you have to take the ferry). It is quiet during the week with a predominantly gay population. Only a couple of women and couples. On the weekend there was a fair crowd of a couple hundred and far more women and couples. There was also an interesting ethnic mix that you do not see everywhere. Ponderosa Nature Resort. June 2007. Finally I had some time to visit this resort, directions were excellent and it is a good distance from busy Hwy # 6 approx half way between Hamilton and the 401. This resort setting is set back from a quiet concession road.Driving through the front gates along a winding road to the "security gate" I announced my self through the intercom and a friendly voice said "come on in' ! Once in side and parked I got out of my clothes - and went into the clubhouse for check -in. Again a friendly bunch of folks. Back outside I went for a self walking tour of the grounds. Lots of cedar trees, trailers, cottages and winding roads. There was a good amount of people all shapes, sizes enjoying the freedom. I was poolside a couple of times, soaking up the sun, quick rinses in the outdoor shower and a plunge into the pool. Thanks Ponderosa ! Thanks Ed for the report.

Port Burwell Report. July 2007. I visited the unofficial nude beach next to Port Burwell Provincial Park last weekend. Although this is private land, as I understand it, the owner passed away last fall and it is now owned by the son. He is willing to have things carry on as before with the beach as long as everyone cleans up their own garbage and there is no inappropriate behaviour. The turnout was really good and the horse flies were not yet biting. The beach is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from parking area #5 and is long and large enough to support hundreds of people. It is a well kept secret in my opinion and we are lucky to have such a nice facility for free. Thanks Gord for the report.
